We regret to announce that the Department of Culture of the Municipality of Bardolino has decided to interrupt the Opera Festival, so the 2025 season will not be held. This questionable decision was taken by the new Councilor for Culture, a certain Marta Ferrari who in the year of her appointment decided to cut two important cultural events such as the Bardolino Film Festival and our ItalianOperaConcerts Bardolino, to replace them with nothing. From a Councilor for Culture one would have expected that she would promote, strengthen, or create something, bringing Culture to the town where she works and where she holds a position that is not only honorary. I would like to emphasize that the Festival has always been entirely self-produced without having any cost for the Municipality, which makes this decision even more inexplicably. Wir bedauern, mitteilen zu müssen, dass die Kulturabteilung der Gemeinde Bardolino beschlossen hat, das Opernfestival zu unterbrechen, sodass die Saison 2025 nicht stattfinden wird. Diese fragwürdige Entscheidung wurde von der neuen Kulturstadträtin, einer gewissen Marta Ferrari, getroffen, die im Jahr ihrer Ernennung beschloss, zwei wichtige kulturelle Veranstaltungen wie das Bardolino Film Festival und unsere ItalianOperaConcerts Bardolino zu streichen und durch nichts zu ersetzen. Von einem Kulturstadtrat hätte man erwartet, dass er etwas fördert, stärkt oder schafft, Kultur in das Land bringt, in dem er arbeitet und ein nicht bloß ehrenamtliches Amt innehat. Ich möchte betonen, dass das Festival immer vollständig in Eigenregie durchgeführt wurde und der Gemeinde keine Kosten entstanden sind, was diese Entscheidung noch unverständlicher macht.
